Can you ask questions - to you?

Mind, in the form as we know, is asset of each of the human being – with neocortex – and exclusive possession of a human being developed recently, limbic brain – a primitive human brain – which we share with advance stage of monkey’s and mammals, reptilian brain – common for all animals.

Objectives behind these questions is to help each of us to test the level of our self awareness, in our life which we value so much. Here we are talking about powers of the brain and mind and not the physical power. Progressively answer for each question can take us away from the reality i.e. if we assume that if we know 10% of our powers answer for the next question can only be lesser than that –if it is an honest exercise. We keep account of money which is our creation, our weight, blood pressure, sugar levels, even IQ. We do it because we know some of our worldly happiness depends upon these answers. We are cautious and careful to optimize these factors – but we are never careful about our real powers, which govern all others in our life.

This is where our obsession on survival reflects. Our intense awareness about the above mentioned factors make us in to the advance stage mammals – not with the total human – capable of going beyond these factors. We are thinking about awareness about the exclusive human powers.

What are these powers? Conventionally speaking human being is the weakest animal the nature has created. A full grown man just cannot fight with a well grown undomesticated dog with his normal physical powers. Animals biologically inherit the instincts ,and they are enough for them. However, in case human being, it inherits major part of sensory knowledge, instincts, part of charged up neocortex and Amygdala as part of unconscious mind capabilities.

These things start maturing with age and observations and over and above the memory system, thinking abilities, emotional abilities, problem solving add to the human assets. With all this human can become more creative than other animals – sound, music, writing, painting, thinking, language, communications, ability to make tools for him are all part of humanly powers.
Ability to take intelligent reactive and proactive initiatives – both through conscious and subconscious minds is another power.

The subconscious mind’s ability to absorb all sensory knowledge – even when it is ignored by the conscious mind and make use of it for intuitions and peak experiences is another power.
Human being can set goals through his conscious and subconscious minds, imagination, dreams, self motivation are other noteworthy powers.

Most important thing about all these power areas is that once the conscious mind is capable – all other powers can be acquired, improved and can be taken to the supreme levels – not only momentarily but as an habit through sincere efforts.

Human being is a social animal – prefers living with his own kind and develop a sense of belonging, understanding, sympathy and empathy. Nature has also responded to this by endowing environment specific DNA patterns. The speed of development of human body, mind and culture has improved considerably since the human social relations became prominent. The new studies suggest that in the last 40,000 years humans have changed as much as they did in the previous two million years. We are more different genetically from people living 5,000 years ago. The main reason for this, they say, is due to the rise in population: a larger population means there are more mutations for natural selection to work on, while its spread helps those mutations to genetically adapt to the new environment people encounter.

With globalization in progress the different races are coming more close with a tendency of merging into a single mixed humanity. Natural selection as a process to change the human specie is about to be bypassed by genetic manipulation technology. In about another 50 years or so — artificial selection using genetic engineering techniques will make evolution forever irrelevant, at least as far as our species is concerned.

This transformation in intrinsic human fundamentals is certainly going to add to the existing powers. These powers can play a dominant role in making human more an human than a thinking animal. The initiatives, self motivation, memory and problem solving enable people to imagine and dream the out of ordinary things – going beyond the necessity of survival and relate them to life, time, context.

This scenario has often encouraged me repeat the statements – “Nothing comes by accident” and “ Sky is the limit” .We will understand these fully, once we broadly understand the astonishing knowledge related capabilities of human hardware – which is mostly common practically in all normal human beings.

We will realize that, in general we just can not imagine these kinds of intrinsic powers. Majority of us are hardly taught about it – may be our predecessors had limited knowledge in these areas, or they might have felt it to be irrelevant or we all were expected to be craftsmen handling machines and materials or clerks writing letters, pounding typewriters, robot like computers operators, keeping accounts books and pile of files. Just understand with the prevalent poverty, illiteracy and denial of basic survival needs for major portion of 6.50 billion human population ( in 2006) how many of us can have meaningful self awareness?
When this a story of majority of the human race, we need not speculate about use of these powers and being happy or not happy in our lives.

Only thing which one can do is to start from himself, then with his family and then the society. We are the building blocks of this civilization and we owe it to us and our future generations.
Let us remember had it not been a approach by our forefathers where we would have been today – learning these things?
