The industrial growth and changing global business situations has increased the responsibility of the entrepreneurs and executives – they have to deal with wider and diverse market, source scares financial and human resources and choose from multiple technology options to acquire competitive advantages to make the venture/ investment financially viable one.

Large businesses and few gifted SMEs possess the internal resources for all these. However, majority small and medium enterprises business owners / executives are not ideally placed in deciding on these diverse matters and need counseling for better strategic solutions.

Risk analysis, operating and financial simulations, constraint, sensitivity and differential analysis is hardly done. In absence of such knowledge enabled approach the personalized opinions lend the decision support. Many decision makers accept the critical path as part of the game but very few learn from mistakes made by others and succeed.

It is not that these people do not have the knowledge / information input, but a process of visualization about the currents and cross currents of the forces and ultimately transforming these into financial terms needs objectivity.

Clarity in any investment decisions supported through above mentioned process not only helps investment to be productive but it becomes easy to source the funds and one can expect a better pricing and terms. Good ideas and opportunities become more rewarding this way.

Organizations need to deploy efficient means to separate creative analysis from routine number crunching. The best decisions depend on the behavior of the market and decision makers’ knowledge of it. Strategic thinking is similar, only there you must anticipate market behavior that does not always follow natural law.

The way I read the things - my professions

These are some of the observations drawn from my last two decades of consulancy years

Size of any business doesn't matter –but profitability and financial stability does. These are something one should be monitoring on a regular basis. Some businessmen say their business is too small to carry out analylitical financial studies that are just a way of not holding oneself responsible for managing the business wisely.

It'll always be someone else's fault when a business fails...that's what one will say. One can choose to succeed or fail. It's always a choice, nothing else - so a choice to be a financially informed business executive is essential. Any business will thank the executive through its increased profitability and longevity!

It's necessary for the long-term success of any business that one understands the financial fundamentals of being a business owner. One does not have to be an accountant or a financial analyst. It's important that one has some key skills in the business toolbox to measure and deal properly with the financial aspects of the business.

Barring few exceptions business executives / owners rarely like to handle the routine financial aspects of running a company. They may provide manpower, facilities but its real function is rarely handled with the seriousness that the function deserves.

It's easy to understand why: Financial management has long ceased to be a money management function. In today’s competitive world it has become a composite function and includes book keeping, financial accounting, resources accounting, performance measurement, MIS, Costing, budgetary control etc. It now concerns with each and every activity in the organization that absorbs a resource and generates a value.

When somebody is deeply involved and have taken financial risks – you are most concerned about the products or services you provide and want to focus your time and energy there. Your financial responsibilities usually fall to the bottom of your ‘desirable duties’ list.

These are some of our observations – surely they do not apply to all and everybody. There are varying degrees of successes and omissions.

Man with a gun

In a hilly holiday resort
i saw a tall old slim man
with a receding sliver grey head bent forward
attired in a blazer with hunter shoes.

Slowly walking
with trailing family towards a dining hall..

He had a holster with old black revolver peeping from it.
frequently caressing it with his right hand fingers
his tired eyes ready to fire and explode

Why the hell this old fellow needs a revolver to deal with any of his problems
and still more why while going for a dinner ?

Does it mean that all these years he never sought or found
ways to deal with life without a revolver ?

Certainly a social animal !

Some years back

I planted a rose plant

one morning I found a small bud on the plant

peeping out of the stem

I wondered from where it came there

following mornings I found it grown a bit

the pettles were forcing themselves out of the bud skin

I wonderd what makes them do it

it went on for few days

one fine morning I found it bloomed

what makes it happen

who gives it the pleasing aroma

which fills our lungs with every breath

who gives it the colour competing with the evening sky

I asked a question to myself

I was also a kid like this bud

whether I am blooming like it

do I give similar pleasure to others

I looked in to eyes around me to seek the answer

I found similar question in their eyes

Are we really independent ?

Can we say these numerous grass blades are independent?

Time has its own motion.but it seems have a dimensions for each person living in this universe and it moves through his mind and creates reflections.

Every human soul surrounded by his circumstances - acts and reacts creating a flow of events which in turn modifies circumstances relating to him and others known and unknown to him. In turn his environment also encompasses so many things created by others through their actions or inactions. So many things and so many variables – one wonders from where they all come.

We do not know how many nano filaments of the human mind keep on working parallel. Nobody knows what memories, impressions, images; convictions keep on influencing this process. Same is a case when we surrender ourselves to sleep and the subconscious takes over.

It is difficult to identify what is pulling or pushing, what is stretching or compressing.
How many of us really know what really causes them to act or react in a particular manner. Are we really aware about the results to follow from our actions or inactions?

Are we really independent and of our own?
No point in looking for answer – it is no and never.

Can any one really isolate himself from such phenomenon day in and day out accompanying him with every breath? It seems that it is as difficult as counting the sheep when you really mean to do it.

All this is not at all important and can easily be called as hoax.
But don’t you feel when you are angry frustrated and wonder, when according to you every thing is right, why two plus two is not four?

From deep within the mind

Following blogs are the thoughts which accompanied me when I was just out of hospital from a serious heart related problem. My son and kins encouraged me to write something about my experiences in the hospital. I named the exercise as 'Not an half hearted effort ..',but thiughts about the time less values occupied my mind and i recalled all that I have read and found new interpretations for them in a changed circumstances.
Apperantly one can find them unrelated or stray texts in the blog form. I made a power point presentation, which with animation and music was more effective. I am working on a movie and hope to upload soon. Hope all will enjoy it more.
Today the yoga is known more than what it was before 10-15 years - when I was in my forties.In my family my elder son Salil and Kavita , his wife, are ardent followers of Yogic way - Art of Living. Their achievements also reflect on my way of looking at the life and drudgery of daily life. I am more focused and energatic in my early sixtees with some irepairable health problems.
Today I work more hard and for longer time and with beter strike rate than before. I have to acknowledge the contribution that has been made by these thoughts.
There must be more people experiencing such successes and happiness. I appeal them to come forward and share those with others.
It's a best way to allow radiation and percolation of values around.

Cosmic communication is very mysterious; it is inner and subtle. There are infinite number of energy objects around the cosmic entities, which go on influencing each other continuously.Man is not an island; he is part of this whole and he learns from it.

We are concerned

We are concerned with the cosmic expanse. The cosmic energy can be converted from one form to another, but it cannot be created or destroyed

Empathy with the Sun

Whatsoever happens on the sun creates a vibration in every cell of our bodies because our cells are all born out of the sun.

In every element of our blood and bones live the traces of the sun. We are part of the sun and no wonder that our lives are influenced by the sun. There is empathy between the sun and ourselves. If we understand this empathy rightly, we can enter into one dimension of our search inward.
